Since 1975, Sofia University has upheld a mission to offer students a transformative, transpersonal education. It is an education that empowers students with intellectual growth, ethical reasoning, and the development of emotional intelligence.
Courses are delivered through both residential and distance programs. Onsite courses are offered at two campuses with one in Northern California in Silicon Valley and the second in Orange County near Los Angeles. Both campuses are also home to Sofia’s Global College where learning opportunities beyond the borders of Sofia’s campus and/or outside of regular schedules are offered to international students.

It allows eligible students to access federal financial aid, helps ensure that employers recognize the quality of your education, and can make transferring credits or pursuing advanced degrees at other accredited institutions much easier. Many employers also require employees to earn degrees from accredited universities before providing tuition reimbursement or recognizing educational credentials.
Sofia University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and approved by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in Federal Student Aid programs. WSCUC is the institutional accreditor for many of the nation's most respected universities, including Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley, and UCLA, reflecting Sofia University's commitment to the highest standards of academic quality and institutional excellence.
